Children's Ministries
The Children’s Ministry has had a few changes and I would like to make sure everyone understands the changes and how they affect all of us on Sunday and Wednesday.
During the 9:05 Sunday Worship Service, the Children will meet in the Sanctuary and will sit with their families or as a group in the second right row with a Leader. A Children’s Leader will call the children to the chancel steps for a Children’s Message and after the message they will depart for Sunday School. After Worship Parents can meet their children at their classroom on the 3rd floor. The children will not be released to non-designated people and we cannot allow them to leave unescorted.
At the 10:30 Worship Service, the children will sit with their families. After the Children’s Message, the children will meet their Leader and depart for Sunday School. Dismissal will be the same as the 9:05 Service. Children need to be picked up by their parents and will not be allowed to leave the classroom unescorted.
The Nursery and Pre-School classes will be available for all children from 9:00—11:30 AM. Each group will have a time of singing and Bible Stories. The Nursery meets in Room #28 on the top floor and the Pre-School meets in Room #25 on the top floor.
Wednesday Evening: Dinner begins in Fellowship Hall at 5:30 PM. At 5:45, the children will meet their leader for play time outside (weather permitting). At 6:00, we will move to our classroom for Bible lessons. At 6:20, Jim Johnston, our Music Director, will meet the children and begin our choir lesson. It is our hope that the children will be able to lead us in Worship during the Christmas Celebrations. After music, the children will begin the craft activity which emphasizes the week’s Bible lesson. A light snack and closing prayer will end our evening at 7:15 PM. The leader will dismiss your children with a blessing. Please remember that we will NOT permit the children to leave the room until you arrive to collect them. I
Volunteer Leaders are needed in all areas of our Ministry such as classroom leaders and assisting craft helpers, craft room and library organizers and prayer partners. We will ask all classroom volunteers to fill out an application and comply with the Youth and Child Protection Program in place at First Church.
Acolytes and Greeters If your child would like to be an acolyte and or a greeter,
please contact the church office. Thank you for your participation in the Children’s Ministry.
If you have any questions, please call the Church Office at 747-4406.
